History of First Assembly

In the early 1900’s a girl evangelist, Uldine Utley, came to Savannah.  There was a good group saved during the revival and a church was formed.  Eventually, the group divided into the Christian Alliance and the First Assembly of God churches.

Pastor Cecil F. Gray, Sr. and his family came to First Assembly on June 15, 1970 (Father’s Day).  He has served here ever since, longer than all the other pastors combined.  During his time he has seen many churches and ministers go out from his ministry to serve in other areas of our great country. 

We can happily report that his sermons are just as fresh, inspirational and biblical as they were when he first came to serve at First Assembly.
